Startup funding databases in 2026: how to access one
Data as of 4 September 2026.
Step 1. Decide which slice you need
A sector, a funding stage, a city, a country or an accelerator cohort. Each is a separate list page, so the slice decides the URL.
Step 2. Open the startup index
/startups/ lists every sector, funding stage, city, country and accelerator that clears the row floor, with the number of companies next to each.
Step 3. Read the table
Company, city, funding stage, last round type, round date and total raised. Filter and page through the rows in the browser; nothing loads from a server as you type.
Step 4. Check what the count includes
/method/ states the fields carried, the fields left out, and the cases where a number is a floor rather than a total. Months near the data date undercount.
Step 5. Take the figure and its date
The figure pages under /data/ hold the headline counts. Each one prints its value, the file date, the change since the previous snapshot, and a citation line.
There is no download and no API. Everything is read on the page.
